Last Wednesday, December 12, in the Postgraduate Auditorium of the Bolivian Private University, in a public session the Bolivian Academy of Economic Sciences (ABCE) incorporated Dr. Pablo Selaya Elio as the new Academic of Number.

On this occasion the candidate presented the unpublished thesis, entitled “The cultural roots of violence against women”, being the same accepted unanimously. As usual, an opposition comment was made, on this occasion it was the turn of Academician Javier Aliaga Lordemann, who commented extensively on the experimental methodology of the same.

Pablo Selaya Elio received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Copenhagen and his Masters in Financial Economics from the University of Chile. He worked in entities such as the World Bank, the British Department for International Development, the Ministry of Finance of Bolivia and the Ministry of Energy of Bolivia.

ABCE congratulates its new member and wishes him success in his future work within our institution, to the benefit of economic research in Bolivia.
